Skip Hollywood, Experience The Beauty of Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach is a breathtaking coastal town in Orange County located halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. It is a great place for artists to enjoy the many galleries.

The art scene in Laguna makes it the perfect haven for artists and home to the world famous Pageant of the Masters. Laguna has seven miles of coves and beaches where tourists can navigate through sea caves, tide pools, and ocean bluffs.

Besides the beautiful waters, Laguna is home to 20,000 acres of protected wilderness, making it the perfect place to explore. Hike, bike, or walk the special vistas, hills, and marine sanctuaries. Laguna Beach is the ideal place for a beach getaway, family vacation or wedding.

Hotels

Laguna is home to some of the most spectacular beachfront hotels in Southern California. Prices vary, but these are some of my favorite vacation lodging options:

The Montage Laguna Beach is known for it’s sweeping 360 degree views of the Pacific Ocean. It is located on 30 acres minutes from Laguna’s shopping and restaurant districts. The beachfront escapade has two outdoor pools and a 20,000 square foot spa. It also boasts three award winning restaurants with ocean views. This hotel’s striking architecture offers the feeling of tranquility. I would stay at the Montage for a special romantic couples getaway.

The Inn at Laguna Beach is a beachfront palisade with the water at your doorstep and walking distance to downtown Laguna in minutes. This secluded bungalow overlooks Main Beach and is a place to enjoy all the wonderful things Laguna Beach has to offer. Enjoy cocktails and appetizers (for all hotel guests) on the rooftop terrace. Reserve beach chairs for a morning dip or a poolside cabana for a more private time. The hotel allows pets – up to two dogs per room, each under 40 pounds. A pet waiver is included, and a $50 non-refundable pet deposit will be charged by check-in.

Surf & Sand Resort is a Mediterranean style luxury resort in the heart of Laguna walking distance to shopping and restaurant districts. The resort offers private, oceanfront balconies, coastal dining, and an award-winning spa. if you’re looking for a family adventure or couples and friends getaway without the price tag of the Montage, Surf & Sand Resort has you covered. The Surf & Sand pool has many amenities, such as new modern cabanas, a wavelike structure, and poolside bar.

Restaurants

Deck On Laguna Beach is local favorite for American bites and extravagant cocktails with a view of the ocean. They do not accept reservations in the spring/summer unless it is a group of 10 or more. My recommendation is the Deck tacos.

Mozambique is a local Laguna favorite. The South African cuisine is a hit, and it’s lively atmosphere will get anyone in a good mood. Live music plays on the weekends and sometimes weekdays depending on schedule. Great place for groups and parties.

Starfish Sushi is my favorite spot for sushi in Laguna. I am a lover of raw fish, and this place has the most fresh fish in town. The decedent rolls will have you wanting to order more. This Asian fusion restaurant serves trendy cocktails. My recommendation is the lychee martini. Definitely a fun spot to bring friends or a date.

Art Galleries

Elena Bulatova fine art gallery in the heart of Laguna showcases spectacular multimedia pieces and sculptures. The gallery picks and chooses from the most renowned artists in the area, across the country, and around the world. They also showcase new artists. Elena Bulatova loves promoting color in the pieces she carries and vibrance. Great place to walk through and enjoy some of the most beautiful pieces in Laguna.

Laguna Art Museum is the oldest cultural institution in the area. It is located on the Pacific Coast Highway. The museum only showcases artwork by California artists. It has a special history, as it was founded in 1918 by a group of artists who settled in Laguna. Laguna is also known as the artist colony.

The Pageant of the Masters is a annual art festival that has been occurring in Laguna for more than 85 years. Live performances showcase every genre of art, exhibits, and student-run galleries surround the Pageant of the Masters as one of Laguna’s main attractions. This festival is an art lover’s dream. The festival begins every July.

Laguna Beach is one of my favorite places. Every time I go back, I don’t want to leave. It is a very special coastal town filled with unique individuals and places with which you can’t resist falling in love.
