St. Petersburg offers fun with beach, arts and eats
You won’t find the same beautiful beaches and sunsets in other Southern states that you find in Florida. As a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, I have come to realize I enjoy a year-round vacation there. Trips to the beach every weekend, amazing restaurants on and off the water, and multiple attractions are among some of the best ways to spend your days.
If you visit, you must take a trip to Pass-A-Grille beach, an enjoyable spot for families and friends with no interruptions, only relaxation. The Don CeSar hotel at 3400 Gulf Blvd is a convenient spot to stay.
The beautiful, pink hotel offers breathtaking views, and visitors can spend time in any of the three pools or hot tubs. The hotel opened in 1928 and has become a popular location for weddings and a haven for the rich and famous.
Visitors should also visit Upham Beach, a great spot for young adults and children in the middle of a strip of beaches surrounded by bars where young adults spend time. I grew up on Upham Beach, and so did my parents. It’s the best location for hanging out with friends and experiencing all it has to offer.
When it comes to restaurant options in St. Petersburg, one of the most exquisite options is located downtown about 20 minutes from the beach on the opposite side of town. After spending a long day at the beach, there’s nothing better than spending a night downtown.
Start with the town’s best appetizers. Visit Flute & Dram, a champagne and caviar bar by the water at 234 Beach Drive NE. Flûte refers to the classic champagne glass, and Dram is a Scottish derived word that refers to a shot of whisky.
For the best dining options, you can experience anything from an amazing steak dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House to a low-key and relaxing dinner on Beach Drive, where the town’s best restaurants are located. After dinner, have dessert at Kilwins. Since 1947, Kilwins has provided high quality chocolates, ice cream and confections.
While you’re in town, visit the The Dali Museum, a 30-minute drive North to Tampa, home of Busch Gardens, a theme park with Tampa’s best rollercoasters. Heading back to St. Petersburg, spend the night on St. Pete Beach and have fun at its kid and pet-friendly beach bars.
Each place you visit in beautiful St. Petersburg will be different from the next. With beautiful beaches, amazing restaurants, and multiple attractions, you will leave town with nothing but the best memories.
